Varicose Veins
What is Varicose Veins?
Varicose veins are those bulging, twisted veins you often see just beneath the skin—most commonly on the legs, ankles, or feet. They’re not just a cosmetic quirk; they happen when the valves inside your veins weaken or get damaged, causing blood to pool instead of flowing smoothly back to the heart.
The Procedure
A thin laser fiber is inserted into the affected vein through a small incision. The laser emits thermal energy that heats the vein wall, causing it to collapse and seal shut.
Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)
Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT), is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat varicose veins, which are swollen, twisted veins often visible under the skin.
